Against Time

It is a common perception that, as we age, time passes faster and faster. We know this isn't true; time doesn’t change but for unnoticeable milliseconds over the centuries as the Moon gradually pulls away from the Earth. However, if we're not careful, the days ~ and years ~ can seemingly pass in a blink, making it feel like we are at Time’s mercy. It got me thinking about one of my favorite topics: our power to make choices. What if something as simple as a choice, as simple as forming a new habit or perspective, could actually help slow down time? Being aware. Paying attention. Enjoying the moments. Maybe it's not Time's fault. Maybe it is we who need to slow down.
